![]() ![]() Megamix is a compilation of various rhythm games from the previous entries in the series and also includes some customary new games. Because of this, people who are veterans to the series might feel that the game is a bit repetitve to the majority of the rhythm games included being the same as the ones on the GBA/DS/Wii. They even included easy variants of select rhythm games for some of the beginner levels, which I found a bit of an odd choice, due to the minigames already being quite simple, but they do have new music to accompany them, so it's not all bad. It also provides a nice entry point for beginners to the genre. ![]() There are new minigames and completely new remixes as well (an amalgamation of a few minigames set to different music), so people familiar with the series need not be bored any longer. RHYTHM HEAVEN MEGAMIX FIRST CONTACT SERIES Megamix is fairly linear, as all the minigames need to be done in order to progress with the game. When you complete a minigame, you get awarded coins, which can be used to buy extra stuff in the shop, such as music tracks, items with interesting flavour text, or to exhange for turnips to play a pachinko game with a goat. ![]() It has nothing to do with the rest of the game and doesn't appear to incorporate any rhythm to it, so I have no clue why it was included, but there it is regardless. I like all these optional rewards, as it provides are secondary purpose to completing and playing the rhythm games (besides the main objective of all games, which is to beat it) and you're always constantly being rewarded and feeling like you're fulfilling a goal. There's lots of extra content besides the main story.
